AT THE HEALING CO-OP, MIDDLETOWN, RHODE ISLAND
This year's SUMMER SOLSTICE LABYRINTH CELEBRATION was held at the Healing Co-Op on Mitchell's Lane in Middletown. The Healing Cop is a non-profit support organization for women with cancer and their families. Linda Phelan has been busy care taking this beautiful out door labyrinth, which just gets more beautiful and peaceful with each passing year!
About twenty folks gathered with us this year to mark the shift of seasons, learn a little about the lore and traditions of Summer Solstice, learn about how the Solstice and labyrinths are connected and join in a guided meditative walk. Judith Medeiros led the group in calming chi Gung exercises to begin our walk and we finished with drumming and the closing of the dirrections. Proceeds from the sale of Labyrinth lady T-shirts and Labyrinth cards by local artist, Coffee Bell, will go to The national WildLife Federation to help with rerhabilitation of wildlife affected by the Gulf Coast Oil Spill.
We hope you will join us for our Fall Equinox walk in September and let the beauty and magic of the labyrinth touch your soul and heart.
CRIS HAS COMPLETED VERIDITAS TRAINING WITH REV.LAUREN ARTESS
On March 5 &6 I attended a wonderful Labyrinth training with the Rev. Lauren Artress and a lovely group of labyrinth pilgrims at The Mercy Center in Conneticut.
First of all I have to say that The Mercy Center was a wonderfully peaceful and powerful venue for this study. Accomodations were beautiful and comfortable, overlooking Long Island Sound, the food was fantastic and the setting contemplative.
Rev. Artress, needless to say, offered a comprehensive foundation for training as a facilitator. For more information concerning Rev Artress's trainings and upcoming tour to Chatres Cathedral go to www.Veriditas.net
