A Path of Healing and Focus

Bell Rock Vortex, Sedona AZ

O.K. Folks, this was an awesome adventure! I can't believe it is almost a month past already since we visited the magical and miraculous red rocks of Sedona, Arizona!

I was invited by two of my most dear clients and students, Lori and Yvette to accompany them on a quick visit to Sedona over the Labor Day weekend. In a way it was just three girl pals on an adventure and it was also a "bring your psychic to Sedona" jaunt, where I served as much the role of teacher facilitator as fellow adventurer.

Cris, Yvette and Lori get ready of a sunrise hot air balloon ride on our last day.

v-bar-v heritage site Petroglyphs including labyrinth forms

Synchronicity smiled upon us at the very beginning of our journey. On the drive from Phoenix to Sedona we had been discussing the ancient origins of the Labyrinth. I had mentioned that Native Peoples in the Americas had also used the labyrinth for ceremony. Upon stopping at the visitor's center, a poster caught my eye which depicting the very thing I had been talking about! The forest ranger went on to comment that  we could view these 4,000 year old petroglyphs just one mile down the road, so off we went! To make things even more interesting...I had decided that each morning we should pick a card to inspire our day and told my companions to be aware of the signs and signals coming from divine source that would affirm our choice. Both girls had chosen Parrot and I, Scorpion, as our guides for the day. On the trail to the Petroglyph site I came upon a socrpion claw lying on the path. it has been added to my personal medicine bag. While at the site, the ranger explained that parrot skulls had been unearthed there! Right then and there we all had our confirmation from Source and we knew this was going to be a great trip!

THE 'GO WITH THE FLOW" LABYRINTH AT LOS ABRIGADOS

Of  course the focus of our trip was to visit and commune with the Vortex energy of Sedona, but I also wanted to visit a labyrinth while there and share the experience of a walk with my fellow pilgrims. Lori discovered that the "Go with the Flow" labyrinth was right in Sedona, on the grounds of the Los Abrigados resort, so one afternoon we decided to make a visit.

The Los Abrigados Labyrinth has been specifically designed by an M.I.T.-Trained Brain Scientist,Pete Sanders, Jr., to maximize your ability to walk in harmony, and pull yourself out of the part of the brain that causes distress and anxiety (the limbic system). The paths and vegetation are constructed to quickly ease you into a reflective state.

The Go with the Flow Labyrinth’s layout is also unique on two levels. First, instead of just returning you to the same starting point (as is the case with most labyrinths), the Los Abrigados Labyrinth transports you to a soothing calmer environment. Second, the Los Abrigados Labyrinth has two distinct halves that symbolically mirror left and right brain function.

In your walk inward (on the left side of the labyrinth), you carry with you all your troubles. Your left brain knows your challenges, but each step takes you toward your center of peacefulness and wisdom.

From that center, you then walk outward (on the right side of the labyrinth). With each step you creatively reflect (right brain) on how to apply that inner calm to your life, both for handling your stresses with greater serenity and for trusting more fully in your faith.

When you exit, welcoming benches greet you, allowing you to review and record your experience. The soothing waters of Oak Creek add to your renewal. You can mentally release any remaining distress into the gently flowing current.
